Learn Japanese in Tokyo

Study Japanese in Tokyo, where tradition and technology mix in one of the biggest cities in the world.

Traditional and modern city
Hidden amongst the skyscrapers and walking down alleyways, you will be surprised by the traditional century old temples which still remain as reminders of Tokyo’s past. Temples are still sacred places of reflection and respect for tradition is highly observed. The district of Asakusa is the best place to visit traditional temples in the heart of the city. An afternoon spent in the gardens of the Tokyo National Museum in Ueno or Yoyogi Park will also have you feeling far from the bright lights and busy train cars of the city, where you can observe the traditional, well-manicured gardens. If the hum of the city becomes too much, the world famous bullet trains which travel at over 300 kilometers per hour can take you to the tranquil shores of the lakes surrounding Mt Fuji in Hakone National Park in just over an hour.

Food is of great importance in Japanese culture, and the cuisine in Tokyo will not disappoint. Tokyo has the highest number of Michelin Star restaurants of any city in the world, but there are options for all, whether it is a drink from one of the famous vending machines, homemade ramen noodles in a traditional Izakaya pub, fresh sushi from the Tsukiji Fish Market, or a fine dining experience.

Youth culture
Japan is often at the forefront of avant-garde youth culture, and there is no better place to witness this than Tokyo, where art, animation and fashion rule. A visit to the district of Akihabara, the heart of Japanese animation, also known as “anime” is a must, alongside with visiting the famous studio and museum of the world renowned and loved Japanese animator Hayao Miyazaki.

A language course in Tokyo is no better way to immerse yourself in this bright and diverse culture, making the most of all that this city has to offer.
