The School of the World offers a varied range of courses combining Spanish lessons with surfing, photography and yoga. These extra activities are usually taught in English and, as you might expect from a school in such a popular surfing spot, the surfing lessons are particular sought after and you will find that both students and teachers are passionate about this sport!
The school building and its neighboring student residence are only five minutes away from the beach and village centre. Inside, the School of the World is tastefully decorated with wooden, ceramic and mosaic elements. There is also a spacious terrace where students like to relax and meet friends after class.
Depending on the time of year, the school offers various creative workshops, including Capoeira classes, cooking sessions, salsa lessons and painting classes. For your free time, the staff also plan various activities such as kayaking, snorkelling, hiking and a crocodile river tour. The School of the World team can help you to plan excursions further afield to explore more of Costa Rica during your stay.
