Tasmanian College of English Hobart

Tasmanian College of English is a small, environmentally friendly school located just a short walk from the city centre. The school was previously known as SACE Hobart, and despite a change of ownership in 2018, it is still associated with the chain, and students are able to continue their studies in the Adelaide, Melbourne and Whitsundays schools, creating the opportunity to discover more of Australia. The Tasmanian College of English is committed to offering its students a friendly, efficient and personalized service. The school has received a number of awards from the city council in recognition for its services to the Tasmanian environment and all the school’s teachers have specialist English language teaching qualifications. Tasmanian College of English carefully selects its staff for both their skills and enthusiasm, as they place a big importance on having a motivated and caring team.

The school is housed in a three-storey heritage mansion with a large garden. During the summer some classes take place in the garden, which offers a relaxing and unique environment for its students’ learning experience. With a maximum capacity of 65, students will feel that they are in a close-knit environment where the teachers really care about their individual learning needs.

For students taking one of the school's standard group courses who are interested in discovering more places in Australia, Tasmanian College of English offers you the chance to spread your course across two or three destinations. After your studies in Hobart, you can travel to Adelaide, Melbourne or the Whitsundays to continue your course. With this program you only need to pay the registration fee and accommodation placement fee once for your entire trip.

The school also offers a free job advisory service. Through this program the school can help you to find voluntary and paid work for your time in Australia. Staff are also able to offer you advice on continuing your education at an Australian university and/or on your travel plans after your English course. Outside your classes, Club Tasmanian College of English offers activities and excursions at reasonable prices. These may include trips to Cradle Mountain National Park and the Hound Wine region, as well as barbecues, film afternoons, sports and much more.
